WHO IS JAY SARTORI?
Jay Sartori developed his interest in art at the age of five. Early on it seemed a way to relieve his anxieties in school caused primarily by his learning disabilities, including severe dyslexia. In fact, while waiting for
someone to read his schoolwork to him, Jay just drew, which helped hone his talents.

As he grew older he found that drawing brought a feeling of peace over him and allowed him a unique view of his subjects. He was able to funnel his frustrations into a positive outlet.

Outside of the art world, Jay earned a black belt in Tae Kwon Do.

Despite his obvious artistic talents Jay hasn't given up on school. After graduating from high school he worked hard to earn his associates degree from Niagara County Community College. He's also looking forward to taking additional courses in both art and other subjects on his way to a bachelor's degree.

As a special treat to fans of his work, Jay also embeds a series of words that relate to that piece. It sometimes takes people hours to find each and every word. But in some cases the words are so well hidden they may never be found.

The "buzz" surrounding Jay's Maze Art continues to grow. He has sold original pieces to individuals and has caught the attention of several corporations, which are including some of Jay's designs for their corporate items.

Even this early in his career his work has already been highlighted in several art shows, which means people in the art world are truly taking a notice of his talent. Jay has also done a number of media interviews about his work.

HONORS & AWARDS
In 2004, NISH (formerly the National Industries for the Severely Handicapped) presented Jay with the Javits-Wagner-O'Day (JWOD) Coin for his outstanding artistic work.

In gratitude Jay donated an original drawing “Death and Dying” to NISH. That piece now hangs in their headquarters in Vienna, Virginia.
